ymca FIT N FUN
Childhood Obesity Prevention Program
 
ymcaA 12-week program designed for children age 8-13 to help educate and prevent childhood obesity. The Fit N’ Fun program incorporates a combination of cardio workouts, strength training and nutritional education classes all in a “fun” environment. Workouts will be conducted at the Family YMCA’s main campus on West Lafayette Street.

The Health Education Department of Warren Hospital will provide the nutritional education segment of the program. Parents are required to attend nutritional education classes with their children.

Program meets three times a week.
Mondays 4:00pm-6:00pm
Wednesdays & Fridays 4:00pm-5:15pm

Fee: $95.00

Program orientation date:
Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 6:00pm in the All Purpose Room.

All participants are required to meet with the Wellness Director for a Fitness Assessment prior to the program.

ymca Youth Yoga (Ages 8-13)
Yoga provides a relaxing, stress-free environment which allows young people to channel their energy towards a positive mind and body experience. No Yoga experience is necessary, just an open mind and willingness to learn proper posture breathing exercises and meditation. Everyone must register.

ymca Youth Running Club (Ages 10-14)
The Youth Running Club is looking for enthusiastic young runners to join our club. All abilities and experience levels are welcome, no running experience is necessary. This summer we will focus on short and long distance running and some additional track and field exercises.

Tuesdays & Thursdays; 4:30pm-5:30pm
